PRP Treatments

The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is derived from the serum portion of your blood, which contains platelets. The platelets contain high levels of growth factors & anti-aging benefits, which, when applied to the skin, will stimulate cell turnover & help our skin function optimally, increasing everything from collagen to elastin, whiles also bringing antioxidant & hydrating properties.

Benefits:

  • Increases Collagen & Elastin Production
  • Reduces Appearance of Fine Lines, Crow’s Feet & Wrinkles
  • Tighter, Firmer Skin
  • Improved Moisture Retention
  • Enhanced Skin Tone & Texture
  • Diminishes Appearance of Acne Scars, Skin Depressions, & Undereye Hollows

Vampire Facial®: 6-Step Process

  • Step 1: Numbing Cream

Our licensed medical team member will cleanse the skin & remove makeup, & then apply a numbing cream to the entire face. This is left on to absorb for roughly 15-minutes while they prepare for the blood extraction.

  • Step 2: Blood Extraction

It only takes a matter of seconds to draw blood from your arm & other than a slight pin prick it's pain free.

  • Step 3: Centrifuge (PRP Concentration)

The Centrifuge will spin the blood causing the platelet-rich plasma, the key ingredient of the Vampire Facial®, to separate from the red & white blood cells.

  • Step 4: PRP Extraction

Our licensed medical team member will then carefully remove the plasma from the vial & transferring it into the microneedles.

  • Step 5: Microneedling Time

The microneedling device gently creates tiny needle holes in the skin. Our licensed medical team member will gently glide the device over the area to be treated, in order to penetrate the outer layers of the skin approximately 2mm deep. It is this needling & the depth of it that results in the redness & swelling of the skin which will heal in a few days. The process of needling before applying the serum activates the stimulation of collagen beneath the skin being treated.

  • Step 6: PRP Application

The face will then be coated with the now developed PRP concentration, through a re-needling back into the skin.

FAQs

7-Days prior to PRP Treatment

  • Avoid chemical peels, waxing, electrolysis, laser treatments, or threading
  • Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, & Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14-days) prior to treatment. It is fine to continue iron & vitamin D.
  • If you are taking any blood thinners, please let us know immediately, as they may represent a contraindication to this treatment. These medications include Plavix, Coumadin & Heparin.
  • Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Iburprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications. We want inflammation to occur – as this is one mechanism by which PRP works.
  • You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment.
  • Prescription medications (including heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed right up to, & including, the day of & the day after your treatments.
  • Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure.
  • Avoid alcohol.

3-Days prior to PRP Treatment

  • Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid, or other “anti-aging”, “acne”, & “bleaching” products.

Day of PRP Treatment

  • Please arrive to Privée Clinics with a “clean face”. No lotions, makeup or other topical products should be applied on the day of the treatment.
  • Drink lots of water in the days leading up to your treatment.
  • If the area to be treated requires shaving due to hair involvement, please shave the area the evening prior to your visit, to avoid any trauma or rash from shaving.
  • Arrange a ride home should our licensed medical team member advise you to do so.
  • You may expect a certain degree of discomfort, redness, & / or irritation during & after the treatment.
  • You may have a bruise at the blood draw site.
  • You will look as though you have a moderate to severe sunburn & your skin may feel warm & tighter than usual. This typically diminishes within the same day or within 24-hours.
  • If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) as directed. Cold compresses can be applied to reduce swelling if necessary.
  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical & responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
  • Light scabs may form in the treated area and remain for 24 to 48-hours.
  • Do not pick or scratch treated skin but instead keep it moisturized.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise, sun & heat exposure for at least 24-hours following your treatment.

  • Avoid pets & small children having contact with treated skin for the first 12 to 24-hours.
  • During the healing phase, be sure to disinfect your phone with alcohol wipes before use.
  • Try to avoid your treated skin’s contact with the phone by choosing a hands-free option.
  • Continue to avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Iburprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications for 3-days after your procedure (if possible, try for 7-days).
  • Use a gentle cleanser (i.e., Avene Clean-Ac Cleanser) and tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 72-hours.
  • Use a gentle moisturizer as needed.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, including tanning booths, & wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily of SPF 30 or higher.
  • Avoid warm environments (i.e., hot tubs, jacuzzis, steam rooms, hot yoga, saunas, etc.) for 3-days post treatment.
  • By day 2 or 3, your skin may feel a bit dry. This is normal & will resolve on its own.
  • You may return to your skin care products & makeup when your skin is not irritated, typically 4 -5 days after treatment.
  • You will begin to see improvements in the overall texture & tone shortly after your treatment, but the overall effects take up to 3-months, for optimal improvement.
  • New collagen formation takes 4-6 weeks to develop; please be patient.
  • It is recommended to have a minimum of 3-treatments, 4-weeks apart for maximum benefit.

Almost anyone can be a candidate for a PRP Treatment. The treatment is especially helpful for people with wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars & sun-damaged skin.

Those with an active infection, existing autoimmune conditions (HIV or AIDS, hepatitis C, diabetes, skin cancer in the area treated), blood disorders, signs of poor wound healing, low-platelet count, a tendency to develop raised scars, pregnancy or lactating, or who need blood thinners.

Platelets are tiny cells in your blood, which are responsible for stopping bleeding by forming blood clots. They help heal blood vessels when damage occurs.

Your PRP is derived from your own blood, during your appointment. A small amount of blood is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge. During this process, the platelet rich plasma separates from the red blood cells. This PRP is then applied to your face or other treatment areas to rejuvenate the skin.

FAQs

Microneedling is a skin-rejuvenating procedure in which tiny needles create punctures in the top layer of skin with the goal of improving overall texture & appearance.

Some clients start seeing results right away. In most cases, clients notice the most improvement up to 3-weeks after the Vampire Facial®. While others experience optimal results up to 6-months.

It is rare to experience side effects, but since the Vampire Facial® is made of the client’s own blood, there’s little chance for an allergic reaction. Some clients also report minor side effects like bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, feeling of pressure or fullness at the injection sites, or itching. Usually, these symptoms go away on their own relatively quickly.

The downtime for a Vampire Facial® varies from person-to-person, but clients typically notice a significant improvement after the first 2 to3-days. Most clients will have fully healed after 1-week. Aftercare is an important part of the healing process, something that you don’t want to overlook.

Vampire Facelift®: 5-Step Process

  • Step 1: Numbing Cream

Our licensed medical team member will cleanse the skin & remove makeup, & then apply a numbing cream to the entire face. This is left on to absorb for roughly 15-minutes while they prepare for the blood extraction.

  • Step 2: : Creating a Beautiful & Natural Shape

Our licensed medical team member uses dermal filler (Hyaluronic Acid) in a a very specific way to sculpt a younger appearing face–while keeping the face’s shape natural.

  • Step 5: PRP Injection

Our licensed medical team member will then inject the client’s own PRP back into their face in a particular way, stimulating multipotent stem cells. The multipotent stem cells then develop into new collagen, new blood vessels, & new fatty tissue trying to “repair” the skin that was never injured!, resulting in younger-appearing skin!
